MSA Practice

Today, I am excited!!! I used more technology to review MSA skills with my kids then I have ever done before. I actually utlized a "Multiple Meaning" game from online with my students. First I pulled the game up on my laptop. Then I connected the laptop to my LCD projecter and my document camera and displayed the game on the screen. WHEW!!!!! Go Mrs. Holmes, I think I graduated to technology 102!!!!

Principal using Document Camera - Jan

The document camera was used duing Pacing and Planning to show data from the laptop that was being discussed with teachers as well as to display the agenda.

Elmo Document Camera

Last night I had the opportunity to utilize the Elmo Document during a presentation for parents and students. The presentation centered around the MSA, how parents can support their student(s) in mathematics, and study tips for students. With the Elmo Document Camera we were able to show parents and students how to solve multi-step problems along with analyzing responses from the audience. With parents understanding the expectations of the state assessment, they will be better equipped to assist at home.

Multiplication Chart & Elmo

Today my third graders showed how to use a multiplication chart to solve multiplication problems. It was very interesting to see that some of the children did not know how to correctly use the chart. The Elmo was extremely useful because the students could actually see all the steps in order to utilize the chart correctly. At the end of the lesson, they all wanted to go up to the Elmo and show that they can find the answer :-).
